What relationship does the SnapCLOUD server name have to the Azure virtual machine name?

The SnapCLOUD server name represents a traditional server hostname. It defaults to the name assigned to the virtual machine when creating it in Azure, but afterward the server name can be changed independently of the virtual machine name, while the virtual machine name itself is permanent. Global DNS resolution of the external virtual IP (VIP) address assigned by Azure to the virtual machine can only be performed using the virtual machine name, not the SnapCLOUD server name, whereas resolution of the internal IP address can be resolvable by VM name or server name depending on DNS configuration (see "How does SnapCLOUD's name resolve to an IP address?").
